Trenchform L Block Modular Trenching Units are multifunctional; used for trenching, retaining, stand alone L walls and services/cable protection within the civil construction industry.

Trenchform units are engineered to cut time and costs associated with traditional cable trenching and precast concrete systems. With easy installation, the plastic L shaped units are light weight and hollow, lifted manually into place and later filled by concrete pump.

Australian made and eco-friendly, the units are locally designed and manufactured to the highest of standards.

SAFER.

There are many major OHS hazard concerns in the civil construction industry.

Typically Traditional Precast Units require swinging in live loads via overhead cranes for installation. The potential risk of falling materials or other possible catastrophic incidents is far too great for the workmen on-site.

On the other hand, Trenchform units which are produced to Australian OHS standards have a mere weight of 30kg per unit.

Trenchform units are an easy two man lift for installation and later fill by concrete pump. No cranes necessary and no potential risk for injury or fatality.

FASTER.

Trenchform is an innovate product that combats the need for form workers or precasts.

The light yet robust units are manually handled and can be placed into the bucket of a bobcat or loader to get them delivered close to the site area. Once placed in the correct position on a levelled bed of 50mm sand, the only thing left to do its fill with concrete.

Trenchform units can be set up across large areas without the need for cranes in tight positions or exceeding their load limitations by the sheer difficulty of the areas they have to work in.

Trenchform is versatile and lightweight, just place and pour.

CHEAPER.

Trenchform is a leading supplier of trenching units, with two manufacturing sites in Australia resulting in a cheaper price per unit when compared to traditional precast units.

Traditional precast units are known to blow out projected costs due to cost of freight and cranes. Trenchform is efficient by design with low transportation and installation costs.

Quick installation of Trenchform units means reduced cost of labour and heavy machinery on site. One truck can bring 80m to site by a 40ft container. Work crews then simply place units and set up a concrete pump to pour and fill. A single concrete pump fills 20m every ten minutes maximising the amount of units that can be achieved in a day with a small crew of men working on the site.

Trenchfrom vs. Traditional Precast Units

Trenchform L Block Modular Trenching Solutions are engineered to cut time & cost associated with traditional cable trenching and precast concrete systems.

Trenchform Modular System
Benefits

  • Low comparative costs
  • Hollow units weigh 30kg
  • Transport costs to site reduced
    due to low weight units
  • Two man lift
  • Low OHS risk category
    Weight is compliant with Australian
    Occupational Health & Safety
  • No crane lifts required
  • Easier access to tight areas
  • Compact onsite storage
  • Low carbon required for construction
  • Ability to forecast and complete projects on time

For example;
In order to place a 10m run of Trenchform units, it could take between 2-10 hrs with 2 men working on the area.

This method makes larger and more demanding projects much more achievable in shorter amounts of time.

Traditional Precast Units
Problems

  • High costs of precast
  • Costly transport to site
    due to weight
  • Unnecessary man hours
  • Access issues for heavy machinery
  • Unnecessary downtime
in between lifts and availability of cranes
  • Mobile cranes are limited
    by their availability and ability

For example;
In order to place a 10m run of traditional precast units, it could take between 5-20 hrs with 4-10 men working on the area.

For an area the size of a football field there may be 300-1000 units required to be placed. The traditional process can take months or even years to achieve deadlines.

We used Trenchform on Darwin’s LNG INPEX site to form electrical trenches for direct buried cable. Trenchform allowed for easy and rapid construction once placed in position. Concrete pumps had a reach of up to 60m, so large areas were able to be set up and filled, approx 20m every 10mins. This brought us in on time and budget.

Trenchform really was a game changer for us.
— John McCosker - Multidisciplinary Superintendent, CPB Contractors

Trenchform ticks all the boxes. Stock turnaround and supply is excellent, imperative for tight timeframes. The unit itself is smart and quality made. And finally its bloody easy and quick to use... the trades found it very user friendly which resulted in a speedy installation. What more can I ask for?
— Dean Birchfield - Civils Leading Hand, Fremantle Constructions

Safety is paramount in any Civil construction environment. Our aim was to create tiered retaining walls, we achieved this by setting back the Trenchform units from each other in order to form high walls. Generally when doing this access is tight and work fronts are deep below ground level. Trenchform retaining walls combat cave ins when shoring is necessary. Very happy with the product.
